UConn's endowment is half of Tech's...


and UConn is a basketball first school. I can see why the state of Connecticut didn't want the new stadium in Storrs even though Storrs isn't that hard a drive (30-40 minutes) from Hartford.

If UConn ever had dreams of Power 5 membership, their lack of an on-campus football stadium pretty much killed that dream since football drives P-5 membership.

10 years ago, I thought UConn was on the rise, but failing to make the ACC or Big Ten has hurt them. AAC membership didn't do the trick and they'll be rejoining the Big East, which I believe is the best move they can make right now since Big East basketball is considered to be at the same level as the Power 5. UConn's football program will continue to struggle and may even get worse as an independent.
