Some background....
She's playing Upward basketball (5th/6th grade girls) and I am helping coach her team. They are not good. There are 2 teams that are really good and 2 teams that are not very good. They rearanged the schedule so those evenly matched teams play each other more often. The two better teams beat us by a score or 30-8 on average....but our games against the other team has been a one possession game every single time. BUT, we have lost every game.
Then came today. My daughter is one of the better players on the team. She plays hard, is aggressive and understands the game. She's the one that gets frustrated when other girls arent paying attention or doing what their supposed to be doing. She stays positive and encouraging even when one of the girls turns it over....every....single....time. God bless her.
Today we had a 1 point lead. The other team turned it over under their own basket so we had the ball with 3 seconds left and a 1 point lead. No timeouts left so coach yells for my daughter to throw it in. She throws a bad pass and turns it over, the other team makes a shot at the buzzer to win.
She's in tears. (And of course I'm frustrated ....i mean, all she had to do was not turn it over under the basket....just throw it to our team, or throw it long and the clock runs out. Aaaaaarrrg.)

I feel so bad for her.
