Can be an advantage at other weights as well if the 6 seed isn't good.

If I recall correctly, the 1 and 2 seeds get an extra advancement point for their bye if they win their semi-final match, as though they had wrestled against a non-existent 7 or 8 seed and won. But they lose any opportunity at bonus points over weak opposition in a first-round match. Unfortunately, that isn't a big problem for VT this year with only two byes.
