Ive used a CycleOps (now Saris) Fluid 2 for years with an old road bike.


It is "wheel on" but I have never had a problem with stability. It is easy to mount and unmount the bike if you DO actually want to ride it or service it. I crank up some loud music and peddle away.
Bike computer tells me Miles, average speed, etc if I'm inclined to need that info (I'm not!).
Good workout with little investment! Hokie360 link lists the same product at $499. It can be had for $299 through Company. I would recommend the front wheel block to raise and stabilize front wheel.
As an aside, I lost a couple parts in a move. Called Company and described what I needed. Two days later I had the parts at no charge. Excellent USA company service!
