I flew cross-country five weeks ago and wore an N95 mask..

I would recommend doing that; however, depending on the duration of your flight, it will not be easy. Those things are TOUGH to wear for extended periods of time. With that said, they are the safest and most legitimate as it relates to protection..

For everything else, I wear a neck gaiter, which is super easy to pull up as needed (and wear around my neck)..
