I have had completely gutless batteries test fine


I'd say it probably has to do with the amount of current being pulled to spin the starter vs. what the tester shows. It's also possible there is something driving high resistance that maybe a great battery can over come but an average one cannot. Same situation goes for the relay. Tough to say without being there
