But it takes more than chemistry to kickstart life.

You need a habitable atmosphere with enough oxygen and no life-killing gasses. You need favorable weather patterns. The earth rotates on its axis every 24 hours so the difference in temperature doesn't vary that much. If earth rotated on its axis every 100 hours, life would have much tougher time. Having a large moon to stabilize the earth's rotation is one of the major reasons we have a stable climate. Without the moon, the earth would wobble more and we could experience all four seasons in one week. If the earth didn't have an iron core, it would have no magnetic field (Van Allen belt) to protect it from the sun's radiation.
But, here's an interesting twist:
The magnetic field that protects us from radiation lets in just enough radiation to cause just enough mutations in our genes that help facilitate natural selection and without natural selection, evolution would slow to a crawl (pardon the pun).
And once again, it takes more than the presence of all these components to evolve life. It takes all these components to be present and consistent for over a billion years to evolve life. It doesn't happen overnight. Life is pretty freaking complex.

So yeah, we're a pretty privileged planet. A rare earth.
