I was there..UNTIL the fires broke out. Do you remember why?->

I bet it was the same one we're talking about. It was spring '74 and I was pledging. I came back to campus in the evening and it looked like spring break. People fleeing the dorms with suitcases....

Word was (remember, no cell phones kiddies) cops had dogs and were going dorm to dorm looking for drugs..All hell broke loose.

As it turned out, a guy got BIT by a dog and the cops were going dorm to dorm looking for the dog to see if it was rabid....

We were with that crowd on Main Street until they broke into the Tore Store and dragged some tires out along with wood road barriers and set them on fire up under the traffic light by McDonald's /Burger King.

Once the destruction started, we left in a hurry.. It all of a sudden stopped being a protest and became rioting and destruction..I wanted NO part. It is EXACTLY why I feel the same way about this crap going on today! THAT was my line...still is.
