I too considered myself fairly moderate until recently...

...and I used to try to consume a wide variety of media sources. Around the time that identity politics started to become mainstream, some of my previous news sources became too much for me and I had to pare back the number of outlets I read/watched. Since then the two sides of the media have raced apart from each other at light speed, and there's not much "moderate" content. I've found a few specific people from various outlets that I feel are more objective than others, but they are admittedly still squarely on one side of "the middle". I just try to sniff out what is obviously biased and be honest about how I'm interpreting things. I'm definitely less moderate now than a few years ago, and some of that is probably due to media coverage. But a lot of it is just due to getting older and gaining life experiences and having been able to form opinions based on interactions with other people.
