I can't tell if you were joking with the babysitter comment


Sometimes it is hard to tell online.

I focus in on that because it was always one of the biggest frustrations that my wife had when she was teaching. Some parents just viewed schools as babysitters and didn't give proper attention to the actual schooling needs (which include active parent participation for homework and other learning that should happen outside of school).

Schools have a job to do, and that is to teach kids. It doesn't matter how they do it, as long as the kids learn. That is the core mission.
