While I don't disagree with some of the statements, it's ESPN bleeding red
as their spending spree hasn't quite been the $ generating windfall that it thought it would be. Covid 19 simply accelerated the key problems with many of the current contracts. Yes, bright spots like increased viewership for the FBS championship game in the last 2 years. but the glaring fact is that viewership and subscribers to their networks is down, therefore ad reveunue has or will drop. Assuming the current conference set up blew up tomorrow, it would allow ESPN to renogiate all of those deals and hopefully make some $ by doing so and paying less
