Event was UFC sponsored, on UFC Fight Pass and was the brainchild of Chael Sonnen.

The cage is so much a part of the UFC brand/organization that they probably wanted to keep it involved, even though it wasn't MMA. I think it adds an interesting wrinkle. No step-out point, forces guys to attack and keep action in the center, etc.
