and those were the only triple plays that I ever saw (even in games I wasn't involved in) throughout my 11 years of baseball and 15-20 years of softball. First one I was playing SS with runners on first and second and the batter hit a screaming one hopper right at me. Tagged the runner from second, stepped on second, and threw the batter out at first. Played another game two days later and again, runners were on first and second. Batter hit a long drive into the gap that everyone (including both runners) thought was extra bases. Left fielder made an unbelievable diving catch and hit the cut-off man (me) who threw to second and then first and doubled off both runners. So two triple plays in a span of 3 days and none the rest of my playing days.
