Both vaccine results announced so far says


they were 92% and 95% effective at preventing Covid-19. I'm not sure I understand unless they are saying it won't prevent infection in everyone.

Your second paragraph is confusing as well. That is pretty much the definition of a symptomatic Covid-19 patient.
