We had a new IS for yes, trip reports, this was in the US governments. I was a master at the old paper forms, "private car from home to airport 15 miles etc." but I digress.

Hadn't taken a trip in a while, liike a year or so, then went somewhere - boring but at least got to use the rocking chairs at Charlotte - come back, use our now automated computer based trip report system. Oh yeah, did I mention that we had a re-org in the intervening time? (re-org in gub, go figure ;^) Long story short was that I belonged to a department that no longer existed and therefore no one of authority could approve my expense reports etc.

Anyway, fantastic amount of work to get it corrected, fortunately, my former boss was still around to trick the system by signing, then had to transfer me to the new department, same guy comes back and signs again ... anyway just a shaggy dog story because no one ever considered my set of cirumcstances in the system eg, it wasn't updated for the re-org plus I hadn't used it in a long time: combination of things.

Anyway, yeah, you reminded me of that.
