Issue is that HR has now passed this off to payroll, so I've now started

emailing the Comptroller for Debt Review directly. I have no idea if and when that W2c will be issued. Do I lose anything by filing and then filing amended later other than time having to deal with the second return paperwork? I don't think I'd really need an extension since I'm not going to owe anything because of the interest free loan I regularly give the government due to the child tax credit. I honestly would rather just file and deal with the W2c when I have it.
