ESPN blocked it with the Long Horn Network.

ESPN may not be making much money if any with the LHN, but they have control over Texas. That's a chess piece they wanted. ESPN has tried to get the PAC12 too, and I think Larry Scott made a bid error not taking them up on it. But ESPN is now in the drivers seat over the Big XII.

Going forward ESPN will either fund a rebirth of the Big XII. or they will push Texas to the SEC or ACC. Once that is determined, we'll know what's next.
