This is such a cluster. First of all, there is zero need for this situatio

Situation to exist. It exists because the natural gas pipelines can and did have self contained, self fueled pumps. It was changed out to be run by electrical power generated far away. Yep. Replaced devices that only need fuel in the gas pipe to work and removed them. I wont explain why that was done. But it was example of more stupidity.

Anyone that reads and believes the BS about the gas freezing in the pipes failed basic chemistry class. Natural gas condenses out at -260f and freezes around -295f. Obviously, if such was the case there would be very few alive before the temps got that low. Oh, and there is the small matter of something we learned about compressing a gas releases heat as volume decreases.

Money spent on BS, eventually bites one in the butt. Wind turbines and solar is great, except in extreme winter conditions. As long as the gas lines are intact and have gas, the easy, obvious solution to maintain supply of same is to self power such a critical piece of infrastructure.

Just unbelievable.

PS; to those who say or hold the belief more wind/solar/other renewables would have avoided this situation, i ask 3 questions:

1) what is max output/capacity of those energy sources in Texas now?
2) at what capacity are these same sources producing?
3) why might that be?
