dominated in HS; most D1 prospects do. Probably pretty good in TB too. The 'hype' you speak of surrounds many pitchers. However, many of those creating the hype fail to understand that virtually every hitter these pitchers face at the D1 level will be as good or better than the best hitter they faced in HS. Sometimes the pitch they dominated with in HS (often a 'rise ball' which, in reality, is little more than a high fastball) doesn't translate to the collegiate level. The hitters there simply take the pitch that is likely out of the strike zone. If the pitcher has no counter she's pretty much toast. Getting out D1 hitters is almost a different game than anything many of these girls have seen before. Nester's averaging a little over one strikeout per inning and has a 3.32 career ERA. That's pretty good.
