He was wanted on a warrant for illegal possession of a firearm ...

or perhaps an unlicensed firearm ... which is why they cuffed him. They told him (on the video) not to return to his vehicle and he did so anyway. IMHO they had the right to use a taser and clearly she made a tragic mistake. It is awful ... it is sad ... it was also an accident and I see nothing (so far) that would indicate racist intent.
