Nothing wrong at all with doing it for money and because you enjoy it.


The issue is that Greenberg is saying Roy only did it out of love for the game, which was horse crap.

I also have a problem with Greenberg saying it's the players and not the coach. That is also horse crap.

This isn't really a knock on Roy. It's more about Greenberg.

Roy was making a good bit more than was published. FWIW, he was the 6th highest paid coach this past season at over $4M/year. For much of his career, many of the details of his compensation weren't public. Nike, Learfield, and "additional pay" were part of it. He's been making bank for quite a while. That $2M salary was never accurate.
