Yep...I was miserable.
I used to run 6 days per week, but that stopped me in my tracks. I tried running with gel heel inserts, but they changed my running geometry and my other joints (knees, hips, etc.) hurt.
I stopped running for ~7 months in order for my heels to heal. I could never get back into running, and have fought the weight battle since.
PF sucks!
