According to a family member who heard it from

Someone else.
It could be the cops saw a black person and wanted to kill her.... Which seems to be what you believe as well as the family of the girl that could, possibly, just maybe, have a biased perspective. But this is definitely a possibility.
It could also be more nuanced than that. There was a small.... Very small... Detail thrown in that this girl was trying to stab someone and kill them. Again, it's a possibility.
But now there is clearly no place for facts or treating each incident as a separate event that should be examined. Just look at skin color and say that's why they were killed. It's so much easier to do and takes no critical thinking or reasoning.
