I work for AWS, joined a month ago

no one makes more than 160K a year in salary, maybe a little more in San Fran, Seattle, etc. but not by much. There is a Year 1 signing bonus, Year 2 signing bonus. RSU vest 5%, 15%, 20%, 20% each year respectively. You get additional RSUs and RSU raises subsequent years based on performance.

I will add, if you like a 9-5 job that you show up, do some work, and leave AWS or Amazon IS NOT for you. If you like the flexibility to come and go as needed, no one watching over you, responsible for your own work, great place to work. Love the technology, the challenge, the scale. I certainly don't see people working 60 hour weeks every week. There also might be a difference between Amazon and AWS expectations.
