What's this?

Yeah, ND and its fanbase are not "wired" for football membership

Its like putting a square peg into a round hole.

People keep trying to come up with ideas to do it, though.

ND will permanently place its football program into a conference only if forced to, reluctantly, and against its collective will.

It will never voluntarily, happily join a conference for good.

There would be a sullen, angry fanbase if that ever happened.

Big donors have threatened to withhold donations permanently if that occurred.

That is why additional TV money never has moved the needle with ND.
