Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the mayor originally tweet

that the dead guy "might have been a relative of hers?" More or less? Now this an erroneous report, despite the fact that she was the one that initially suggested it?

So what bothers me is that, for the most part, there is a menu of leftwing causes.
In this case, a gay guy got whacked - which is about as high on the list as you can get. So what would be the first reaction that a typical scumbag
politician do? Perhaps, try to milk a situation for some residual sympathy - such as signal that she and the dead guy were linked or close and this is some grand tragedy for her as well? Doesn't it look like what she did?

But then it turns out that this guy may have been a pretty bad guy. Guess what! Then she backtracks on her tweet and runs for the hills. The real tragedy is that this kid's life might be ruined, but we get to be lectured by the PC virtue-signaling grandstanding mayor.

I figured there was probably more to the story from the beginning.
