Where they are made is largely irrelevant. But any apparel made for


outdoor use, unless it's old-school wool, is going to heavily rely on synthetic fabrics for warmth, moisture wicking, and water repelling properties. Almost all of those synthetic fibers are petroleum-based.

You can probably get away with using just cotton/silk/wool/linen for everyday clothing. But making high performance athletic or outdoor apparel kinda requires petroleum.

One would think an outdoor/athletic apparel company would be aware of this.
