The only way I see contraction is ...


the Power 5 breaking away from the NCAA and some of the Power 5 schools deciding to remain in the NCAA. I doubt any P-5 school would make such a move, but you never know.

I still believe that 10 is the best number for conference membership. You get round-robin play in all sports. I just feel that the expansion that occurred 15-20 years has made 10 team power conferences something that we'll never see in our lifetimes.
