ACC needs to upgrade football profile. No Question.
What has saved the ACC and enabled the 20 year commitment from Disney/ESPN is essentially the Duke/UNC basketball rivalry and all associated with that. You won't see Seth Greenberg and Jay Bilas praising SEC during February/March unless Kentucky is good. I think Clemson football has gotten a lot of primetime football on ESPN lately, but not like the SEC for sure.
I regret that ESPN sees the ACC as its Basketball Conference, but it's what has saved the ACC. The irony is Maryland left, and Maryland is a basketball school. The ACC has an opportunity for FSU/Miami to come out of hibernation in football to fix some of that, but that's what happened at ESPN.
