It's more likely that ESPN might try to outbid Fox for Big Ten


Remember that ESPN currently has partial secondary rights to Big Ten games. The Big Ten contract is up in 2024. Three main options exist.

Fox bids for full control
ESPN bids for full control
Fox and ESPN maintain current split control (Fox is primary and has conf champ game)

ESPN and Fox currently split the Big Ten, B12, and PAC. All three of those media deals expire in 2024 or 2025. So there is still room to get more control under a single media umbrella. And at that point, it either makes realignment go away, or it accelerates everything towards super conferences.
