Yeah, I'm trying to interpret his "wow"...

As a real estate agent it may be he's concerned about home sales being affected.

I see polls all the time that don't make sense (aside from not knowing who's doing the polling, what do they get out of this etc. isn't mentioned) eg "Do you think Mr Smith is guilty") where public opinion on the matter is probably the worst thing you could come up with in a court case. or predicting things eg scientific breakthroughs. "Will you be driving a flying car in ten years"? who knows? but mostly likely an engineer somewhere not people being polled.
These are public sentiment polls? I guess?
