To me, this is part of the issue. We've got some who believe covid is
literally as bad as the bubonic plague was and a genuine reason to live in absolute fear for your life. Then we've got some who believe covid is totally overblown, all the reported numbers inflated, and the vax is actually (or at least potentially) worse than covid.
Which means we've got some who believe no mitigation effort is too extreme, even if it costs society tens (maybe hundreds?) of trillions of dollars. Then we have some who believe any mitigation effort, no matter how small, is pointless overreaching government interference.
Kinda hard to reach any common ground when we can't even agree on how big the problem is.
