This would avoid the annual politics of the CFP

Let's face it, the CFP-4 is a rigged game.
And you know the CFP-12 plan isn't going to hold up after SEC expansion anyway. And even if it does, SIX SEC AT LARGE BIDS, Anyone? How boring.

With a Rose Bowl alliance, no politics, just conference champions.

I for one, thinks it's worth the risk. You can always surrender to the SEC-ESPN Axis later.
