Trust me......


nobody on this board is even interested in holding a candle to you or the Big 12 but, there are lots of people who see your numbers(particularly the value ascribed to the potential 4 new members) as a fantasy exercise. The Tier 3 rights are irrelevant to the value they bring to the conference as they stay with the individual schools and the only way they are relevant to the Big 12 conference as a whole is if somehow the conference decides to adjust common payouts to equalize all members in total. A situation that in all likelihood makes the Big 12 dead man walking before it gets started.

You like to trot out the numbers Bowlsby says he believes to be the adjusted amounts the Big 12 can expect. Have you seen anybody not connected to the Big 12 office confirm those estimates publicly? When you can actually show me where ESPN has confirmed that I will move that number from the fantasy column to the reality column. That still leaves the matter of the other $80 million that appears to have no substance in reality other than the stated wish from the Big 12 that its members generate $20 million. This is not a case of saying it and it automatically happens, whether it be you or the Big 12. Let me make it simple for you, if Cincinnati is worth $10 million right now as an AAC member it is a fantasy to think that they instantly go to $20 million with a new conference address and that is even before considering applying the likelihood that the same progression can be expected of the other 3 new additional members. Honestly, IMO, of the 4 proposed, Houston is likely the only one that comes remotely close to your projection and even they are a stretch. Finally, to be clear, nothing has been said regarding how smart you are but, you have been challenged to actually back up your work and show your math from verified sources as opposed to the hopes and dreams of Bob Bowlsby and the Big 12 conference office.
