I think your points are valid; however, I don't know that I would paint in broad strokes. It appears many games (college and otherwise) experienced a similar set of circumstances. There is A LOT of pent up emotion and, for Virginia Tech fans, it is coupled with a lot of angst about our team and the direction of our program. Not that these are excuses for bad behavior. I don't think you would find 100 VT fans that would excuse or condone the throwing of objects, direct harassment of opposition fans (and sometimes even our own). However, mob rules, as they say.

Couple all of this with some pretty significant first time modifications to the game day experience and it was even messier for folks. Introducing electronic ticketing, beer sales, and a few other things just added more tender to the fire.

I would definitely encourage you to come back at a "less volatile" time. There was a day when the frenetic energy was as intense without some of the other less desirable aspects of last Friday.

ALSO... I also wish we could get better concessions. Pork nachos were good last year. Are they still there?
