Passed at will but only scored 7 points v. starting D? Vanilla D scheme


to boot. I mean, you may have "felt" MTSU passed at will but the objective reality is that they didn't score points. Not trying to be impolite, but maybe your "feelings" about the passing game are off?

They had good passing numbers -- 283 yards on 40 attempts. 11 passing first downs. 2 TDs. But a fair bit of that was against our back ups and when they were WAY behind in the game. We also ran an extremely vanilla defensive scheme.

Why is that your reference point rather than the 3 INTs against the great Sam Howell? Why isn't that something that gives you a sense of optimism?
