Something to watch for, he's been calling shell coverage between the 25s to prevent the backbreaking plays we always used to give up at the expense of short stuff. The bet is that all it takes is one negative play for the offense to get behind the sticks, almost mirrors our offensive philosphy of take what they give and depend on execution to win games, not explosive plays.

For our defensive personnel it makes sense, if we play press man and bring the heat we'll probably win that battle 80% of the time given our great CBs and inexperienced Safeties, but the 20% it doesn't work we get beat for a touchdown. When you have a short field that success rate is much closer to 100% because the CBs don't have to worry about getting beat deep and the safeties have less ground to cover. We have a strong enough Dline that there's a good chance they can make a negative play on their own, and our LBs are much better at cleaning up runs with Tisdales added weight and Dax not having to cover in space.

Also our tackling has been 100% better this year between the LBs and Peoples at S which is a huge reason we can play the bend don't break. If you play that style then miss a tackle on a screen or slant which ends up in a TD it's the worst kind of fail, but we've done a really good job of making those stops before big YAC.
