Would be interesting if old style bullyball could be a counter approach

Used two or three tight ends, go unbalanced sometimes, big strong backs. Try to dominate possession time and just pound away. Sort of works for the triple option teams like the service academies.

I have the sense that it wouldn’t work once teams scouted you and knew what you were going to do.

Another idea would be, what if you played two different offenses? If you had your speed personnel and your heavy personnel and rotated them throughout the game? The rosters are certainly big enough to accommodate two different platoons. But it might be hard to find enough talent.

I would like to see some innovation. Personally I can’t stand the state of the current game, with these high scoring shoot outs. I like defense. I would like to see a couple of rule changes, like a minimum of 15 seconds between plays. And maybe a maximum of one substitution per play. And it would be nice if linemen could not hold; and could not go down field at all or pass plays.

But I guess I’m in a minority, no one seems to be complaining.
