the next few years, we did Bears Den to Harpers Ferry this year, 26 miles, did 8 friday, 10 saturday and 6 sunday. figured that was a good start even though a bunch of those were not exactly in VA since we crossed into WV. we are going to start working our way south from Bears Den starting in the spring.

I did upgrade a lot of my gear recently to more lightweight equipment, i have switched to a hammock system and have my overall weight with 3 days of food and water down into the mid 20 pound range so it makes it more enjoyable and plan to shed a bit more weight in the future if we continue pushing bigger miles and trips

I have binged AT thru hiker videos the past few years, its amazing to see the highs and lows of their journeys. I do think a lot of it is living vicariously too.
