In ‘75, we beat WF 40-10 to end the season withb4 straight wins. We thought


that we had the Tangerine Bowl wrapped up with the 8-3 record. A few students threw tangerines on the field. We thought it was a statement win by the score.
I believe that a 7-4 team went to the bowl instead of us, don’t remember who, but it was someone with more of a football reputation at the time that bowl committee thought would sell more tickets.
In ‘75, we won all home games.

We lost to Tulsa in a high scoring game in ‘76. Both teams scored over 40 points that day. We finished 6-5 and didn’t sniff a bowl consideration. The next year was only 3 wins and Jimmy Sharpe was fired.
