It was always about a perception of doing something to make people


feel comfortable and that they had some control over the pandemic when in reality for this to end everyone had to get the virus or get vaccinated (which at this point we know doesn't do a good job of preventing you from getting the virus, but is essential in reducing hospitalization and death). What we are going through now is the light at the end of the tunnel. We were never going to eradicate the virus and the scientists knew that from the beginning.
