I worked in healthcare as a clinical


engineer. The FCC had designated a certain frequency band for medical telemetry. But with the ever expanding number of TV stations they granted new UHF channels in the same frequency. How they didn't understand the problem was beyond me. The hospital had to pay for an expensive equipment upgrade to for another frequency. I guess watching Andy Griffin reruns was more important than cardiac patients being monitored.
