Not going far to keep people happy or someone complained bitterly in past


Probably someone in another department or one of the less capable ones in the department that couldn't find someone when they needed some hand-holding.

As I've mentioned many times with family, you have to be careful to make yourself marketable within the company to move to higher roles because of the ageism in the industry. It'll be more obvious when there's a major changeover in the technology. Employers are going to train new graduates over older workers (30+)..
