The fact is everyone that is under an HOA's thumb signed something that


said they'd abide by all the HOA rules. At least I'm pretty sure that's the case. Now do some HOA's take it too far, sure. But they are meant to keep up property values in the neighborhood if I'm not mistaken. Prevents your neighbor from painting his house pink, not mowing the grass for months etc. and generally bringing down the value of your house.
