Tarping is foolish - Empty seats are empty seats

It's certainly wise for Pitt not to sell upper level end zone seats at Heinz Field, but putting a tarp over those seats isn't going to make any difference, just as it won't make a difference in Miami. All tarps do is get dirty and torn. I know it's done a number of places, but it does not really enhance the atmosphere at all.

It boils down to being able to sell tickets. And Pitt never has. Pitt is stuck with what it has and needs to make the best of it. It would help if the Rooneys and Steelers would give up on the grass playing surface or at least eliminate all the WPIAL high school games that are played there in November. But at the end of the day, it's a pro stadium and there's only so much that can be done to make it feel like home for the Panthers when the Steelers are the 600 ton gorilla of football in western PA.
