concerning her father's critical health problems early in the season had an impact on the mound. Maggie really pitched well once the weather got warmer in Blacksburg and her father's health improved. I also think Chelsea Whitcomb will be much improved next season. It's sometimes difficult to come back and play 100% after suffering a severe injury like she had as a true freshman. She appeared to be gaining more confidence later in the season.

Pitching will be our main concern next season. We have 2 incoming freshmen who may contribute right away. It's hard to tell with freshmen. I like both the pitchers coming in. Taylor Barnes and Carrie Eberle are both have standout senior seasons on the mound. I'm hoping some of our returning pitchers improve from this season. I feel confident in our returning players. We were young this season. I honestly believe that the future will be bright. I'm really excited about our recruiting class of 2017 players.
