Eventually, their 30 to 40th ranked recruiting classes will catch up to them.

I think UofL is a solid program, but they are clearly not going to be a top 10 team most seasons. There's little evidence to support that. They rely, and will always rely, upon kids who top programs have looked over. There's little to no D1 talent in their home state.

VT got over that hump and turned itself into a legitimate top 15 to top 20 program by relying on in state talent and an absolutely rabid fanbase. Neither of those are there for Louisville. And not even Papa John can make that happen. Being known as Papa John's U just doesn't have the mystique with recruits that Nike U brings to Oregon.
