Some PAC bullet points....


1. Texas (with OU and others) tried to go to the PAC before. So I don't think they'll lose interest and will revisit this again.

2. Like you said, the PAC needs at least 2 schools to be on par with the ACC, B1G and SEC. Adding 4 schools makes a convenient pod.

3. UT would love to be affiliated with the California universities. Some Sooners seem to have a desire looking west as well.

4. OU can bring OK State and UT can bring Texas Tech without any reservations from the PAC. The PAC has some great universities, but there are some universities in the PAC that have a similar academic profile as Ok State and TT. The B1G and ACC might whiff on the idea of Ok State and TT because of their snobbery. Although, we have Louisville which debunks some of this argument.

5. Time zones. Well, the Big XII was OK playing Colorado all those years. Playing in a eastern division with Zona, ASU, Utah and Colorado wouldn't be too foreign. And playing 2 time zones to the west in California could be a rarity if the PAC blunders non-divisional scheduling as bad as the ACC did.

6. The PAC still suffers form "west coast bias." There may be some truth to this as many of their games are played while I'm falling asleep on the couch. Adding 4 universities in the Central time zone gives the PAC more exposure to the east.

So Maroon Baboon I think you're on to something.
