I don't see how that's different


All the groups were/are bad. This one seems worse from the start. Don't think the timing of when we realize the group is bad is meaningful. It's still the same plot. Details vary, but the cycle continues.

How about finding a group that isn't evil? Maybe one that was good and rejects Rick's group as evil? Maybe two groups, each of which vy for Rick's group to join based on different philosophies?

TWD could go a bunch of different ways, but stays on the same path.
