Just renewed two car radios yesterday.


My price threshold is $99/yr. Have a reasonable price in mind before you call.

Call a day or two before renewal date and tell them you'd like to renew at your price. Don't let them dazzle you with various offers and their ideas of what you might like to listen to. I tell them, "I'd like to renew at $99 for a year."

Boom. Done.

Been subscriber since 2008 and it is much easier to call the shots than it was a few years ago. I used to have to threaten to drop service, etc.

Pay attention to the post card/mailing they send about six weeks before renewal date. I put the date on my Google Calendar task list as a reminder to avoid the dreaded, full-retail-price auto-renewal.
